The Hub
THE HUB
I open my eyes to confusion
a sensory attack
numbing my mind to malfunction
the neurons retreat to the black
this body is strange unfamiliar
but my nakedness seems to be right
strangers appear out of nowhere
coming and going all night
that’s how it is in the hub
don’t let them see your innocence
never let them into your mind
don’t show the fear in your eyes
you must survive in the hub
learn to live with the lie
never let them into your mind
assimilate comply
I wander about in this nightmare
and all I can do is just stare
I’m bumped and I’m pushed as I
walk through the crowds
but I don’t seem to get anywhere
Naivety worn like a billboard
the moment that I arrived
rebirthed from a cold plastic mother
I haven't yet learned to survive
